The New House

This is actually not a new house but the reconstruction and extension of a 1960's bungalow. The house has an upstairs lounge making the most of the Westerly views and also upstairs is the master bedroom and ensuite. On the ground floor is a large family kitchen/dayroom and the secondary bedrooms and ensuites. An annexe was also constructed for the client's parents.

The house is built using traditional construction of masonry walls and site built timber frame but with contemporary modern aluminium windows and doors. The owner wanted to use high quality materials such as Western Red cedar cladding and pre-patinated zinc to the roof areas.

Internally the house is finished in a simple style but again quality materials have been used throughout such as oak flooring, stone floor tiles and an oak and glass staircase.

The bungalow was increased from 150 square metres to a house of 400 square metres and the build took 10 months to complete.
